Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated MIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks on various metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will contribute directly to the successful completion of projects, manufacturing processes, and custom fabrication jobs. Responsibilities
- Identify and verify the following: Part names and numbers, proper metals and equipment prior to use, and proper tooling and/or metals for specific welding types
- Assist the team as needed to complete projects that may or may not involve welding to ensure the team’s operational efficiency as a unit
- Use all provided safety tools related to specific welding use
- Have knowledge of how to use and set up tooling for specific weld types
- Document use and wear of all tooling
- Complete process checks prior to and during operation to confirm the following: tolerances, proper machine function, and quality standards
- Maintain accuracy and motivation on repetitive jobs
- Maintain a clean working area during and after operation
- Ensure welding equipment is clean and in proper working condition prior to, during, and after use
- Communicate clearly with the next shift regarding the following: Completed items, urgent items, material details, equipment details, items scheduled next
- Report any broken tooling or equipment in a timely manner
- Initiate process improvements
- Work with other welders to ensure that the flow of product is efficient
- Keep all welding organized and labeled to ensure proper use and welds
- Fabricate and assemble a variety of components and structures using MIG or TIG welding for the following metals: Stainless, carbon, aluminum
- Produce welds in accordance to customer requirements and/or employer specifications
- Read and interpret the following to determine operations require to meet customer demands: Diagrams, sketches, and blueprints
- Operate grinders as needed to prepare finished parts
- Assist in other areas of the shop as needed
Experience
- Proven experience with a focus on welding operations in industrial or manufacturing settings; recent graduates or current students of welding programs are also encouraged to apply!
- Demonstrated proficiency in MIG is required, MIG and TIG both are a plus
- Experience working with various materials such as sheet metal, pipe, ductwork, or structural steel.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and other fabrication machinery.
- Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA regulations and ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience with mechanical knowledge or machining is advantageous.

Experience:
- recent blueprint reading: 1 year (Required)
