Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional home care for a recovering young man. This energetic role involves delivering personalized assistance that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be proactive, attentive to detail, and committed to creating a supportive environment that fosters recovery and comfort. You will work closely with the client, their family, and therapists to ensure comprehensive and respectful care tailored to individual needs.
This job is paid partly through IHSS, and supplemented when able to show ability to work independently, you must be able to accept payment through IHSS, additional pay is provided by family according to skill level
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, hygiene, incontinence and catheter care, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts daily
- Monitor and observe the patient’s condition, documenting vital signs, behavioral changes, and overall health status accurately
- Manage medical documentation in compliance with home healthcare regulations and HIPAA privacy standards
- Support specialized care needs for TBI recovery support with patience and sensitivity
- Perform catheter care, transfers to commode and assist with medical procedures under the supervision of professionals and family.
- Assist with meal intake and eating foods aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote optimal recovery
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks including laundry and general cleaning
- Support communication needs ensuring augmentative communication device is available and accessible for patients use by eye tracking system used to talk hands free
- Foster a nurturing and positive working relationship to ensure patients comfort levels and maintain strong connection and non-verbal and verbal communication
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or home health settings, particularly with disabled populations
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Familiarity systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home healthcare practices
- Ability to perform CPR and basic life support (BLS) confidently in emergency situations
- Experience working with individuals with TBI recovery, developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication and active listening abilities
- Excellent Communication skills for non verbal patients
- Ability to formulate strong emotional connections to ensure patient feels safe and understood
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, assisting with mobility, and long periods of standing or walking

Pay: $27.64 - $33.29 per hour
