Title of Position: Intervention and Assessment Specialist
60,000-70,000 Salary for 195 days

Mountain Sunrise Academy is a Waldorf-inspired K-8 public charter school in Utah County. We are located on the border of Saratoga Springs and Lehi, on the banks of beautiful Utah lake, surrounded by the majestic Wasatch mountain range.

Summary of Position: The specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the intervention and assessment department. This includes managing physical facilities, student behavior in small group intervention, evaluating student performance, and communicating consistently with classroom teachers. In addition, the specialist will be responsible for lesson preparation using our reading intervention curriculum aimed to engage individual students while also building and improving student skills. In addition, the specialist will coordinate all required state assessments. The person in this role will also work directly with students
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports students in small-group instruction within the classroom setting when appropriate to reinforce skills and promote academic growth
- Analyzes data to determine who needs intervention in both math and reading while regularly evaluate the success of the intervention
- Plans and implements intervention for students: groups, levels, etc.
- Plans and implements instruction for students in small groups
- Effectively communicates with paraprofessionals and leads them in their role as intervention teachers
- Completes all State required reports related to assessment and intervention
- Calendars and facilitates all State required assessments (RISE, Acadience, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
- Experience working in intervention is a plus
- Excellent organization skills is a must
- LETRS training/Science of reading knowledge
- Familiarity with ALO and RISE is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google (docs, sheets, forms, drives), and data management environments
- Skill in the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships
- Skill in working with diverse individuals and handling situations with tact, diplomacy and discretion
- Demonstrate the highest standards of honesty, integrity, flexibility and responsiveness
- Ability to be proactive and innovative
- Professional oral and written communication skills in English, including academic report writing
- Possess a valid Utah teaching credential and meet any other credential requirements is a plus. Mountain Sunrise will follow applicable USBE standards. All teachers will have a bachelor level degree at an approved higher education institution and will hold an appropriate license with areas of concentration and endorsements as approved by the USBE (See R277-510, R277-520 and R277-524) such as a PEL
