Description:
The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day Human Resources needs of all Willow ministries by delivering comprehensive HR support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role partners with ministry leadership and staff to foster a positive, compliant, and mission-aligned workplace culture. Responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits and compensation support, compliance, performance management, HR systems administration, and offboarding. The ideal candidate is organized, relational, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple HR functions while maintaining confidentiality and legal compliance.

Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, offers, and onboarding

Partner with hiring managers to ensure effective hiring practices, communication, and legal compliance

Oversee screening requirements such as background and reference checks

Support onboarding initiatives

Serve as a resource for HR policies, procedures, benefits, compensation, and employee questions

Process employee updates including promotions, salary changes, and organizational changes

Support employee relations matters and other initiatives

Administer FMLA, workers’ compensation, and offboarding processes

Ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, audits, and recordkeeping requirements

Partner with HR Director in performance management, training initiatives, and organizational HR programs

Act as the HRIS subject matter expert

Manage work authorization and independent contractor processes in partnership with Finance/Accounting
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field

3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role

Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

Experience with handling sensitive and highly confidential information

Experience working within HRIS, Paylocity preferred.

Understanding of various recruiting channels, job boards, and networking groups for recruiting purposes.

Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $87,000, depending on experience and education.
