Field & Fire is seeking a passionate baker to join the pastry department at our Bakehouse location. Join a team that cares about making the highest quality products, working with regional, organic flours and local produce from Michigan farms. Everything in our bakery is handmade from scratch from start to finish. We are looking for a reliable baker with attention to detail, drive and a strong work ethic. Typical hours are 4am-12pm, Wednesday-Saturday.
Job Duties:
– Precisely scale ingredients for muffins, scones, cookies, etc. according to pre-written recipes
– Operate a dough sheeter to shape and laminate croissant dough
– Keep a clean, organized workspace
– Package orders for wholesale accounts
– Maintain consistent high-quality standards
Qualifications:
– 1-2 years’ experience
– Experience working with laminated dough preferred
– Experience making gluten-free and vegan pastries highly desirable
– Independent, ‘can do’ work attitude.
– Ability to work with little or no supervision
– Ability to lift 50lb
– Ability to be on your feet for long periods
– Basic knowledge of commercial bakery ovens, mixers, scales, health codes and safety procedures
