York Day Early Learning (YDEL) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate educator to help foster a calm and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers and/or school-aged children during overnight care.
THIS POSITION will be four (4) days per week, Monday - Thursday evenings. The shift will be 5:00pm - 1:00am (8 hours straight, no break), or 5:00pm - 1:30am (half hour break).
Hourly rate calculated based on credential held in Early Childhood Education:
- Entry level starting at $15/hour
- Active CDA starting at $17/hour
- Associates Degree in ECE starting at $22/hour

Education and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma, or equivalent (required)
- CDA or associate's degree in early childhood education or related field (preferred)
- 2,500 verifiable hours of supervised childcare in a licensed facility
- Pediatric first aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain before starting date
- National Sex Offender Registry, FBI fingerprint record, PA Child Abuse History clearance, and PA State Police Criminal Record check clearance
- Staff health assessment and negative TB test results
Shift Option:
- 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM
- 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM (half hour break)
Responsibilities:
The Twilight Care educators must have reliable transportation to and from the YDEL property. Additionally, educators must be willing to:
- Regularly lift and carry children of various sizes and occasionally up to 50 pounds for work-related purposes.
- Maintain adequate mobility and stamina to engage with students, staff, families, and visitors in an interactive environment.
- Remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout overnight shifts.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Provide comfort and emotional support to children while ensuring safe sleep practices and consistent bedtime routines.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote creativity, support bedtime and morning routines, and enhance social-emotional learning.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in early childhood education.
