Rapidly growing fire protection company is actively seeking a full time Field Service Technician for our extinguisher and kitchen suppression systems department. We are seeking an individual who is eager to grow within a company and who is looking for a long-term career in the fire protection industry.
This position is fast-paced, individuals must have the drive to go the extra mile. An ideal candidate enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience. This position will require travel with a company issued vehicle in Orange County, Los Angeles County as well as parts of Riverside County along with San Bernardino County.
Training is provided and is dependent on how quickly you can learn the skills needed. Training will include working in our warehouse from time to time and working out in the field with a senior service technician. Once fully trained, you will be given a route of jobs to do independently or with other service technicians. There will times when there is down time, and this will require the candidate to work independently in our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be able to shift focus and juggle multiple responsibilities between going out in the field and working in our warehouse, while maintaining a sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
- Assists, learns, and trains to learn how to service fire extinguishers.
- Once training for servicing fire extinguishers is complete, candidate will be trained on servicing fire suppression systems such as kitchen hoods, spray booths, and yacht systems.
- Perform customer installation, maintenance, and service calls promptly and effectively.
- When working in the warehouse this candidate will be responsible for stocking, inventory, pulling orders, keeping warehouse clean and safe, as well as refilling, servicing, and certifying fire extinguishers.
- Once training is complete, a company issued van will be provided and a service route will be assigned.
- Drive service van and use GPS to navigate multiple locations.
- Fill out all required paperwork while on job sites, including taking notes for future actions as needed.
- Properly communicates lead time for customers as needed.
- Maintain company equipment in a clean, safe, and working condition at all times.
- Ensure company service van is always clean and presentable.
- Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of our customers.
Qualifications

- Must be at least 21 years old with 4 years' experience driving along with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Must have a safe place for a company issued service van once issued after training is complete.
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift up and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Must be mechanically inclined and self-motivated.
- Ability to obtain required Fire Extinguisher Certification with the Office of the State Fire Marshal among other certifications as needed.
- Ability to complete accurate and timely paperwork such as invoices and reports.
- Must have a minimum of 4-year similar work experience.
- Must have a minimum of 6-year experience in customer service.
- Bilingual a plus.
Working Hours:
Typical Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30-4:30 pm depending on workload and customer requests.
There may be over time depending on traffic and workload.
