POSITION: Construction Operations Manager Location: Huntsville, AL / Nashville, TN / Additional Regional Locations

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Construction Operations Manager, you will serve as a key ambassador for the company, strengthening client relationships while managing our workforce and commercial division. You will be the go-to expert in landscaping and construction operations, overseeing contracts and projects to ensure high-quality results, on-time delivery, and adherence to budget. This role involves coordinating with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to drive project success.
Your responsibilities will span scheduling, employee management, divisional strategy and planning, budgeting, and daily operations. Acting as the primary liaison with customers, you will convey expectations to Project Managers and Estimators to ensure alignment. Your top priorities include maintaining a safe work environment, delivering exceptional workmanship, and meeting client needs while optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide professional advice, opinions, or assistance to estimators, Project Managers during the estimating and problem-solving in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead and oversee assigned job sites to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.

Successfully complete contracted and ongoing tasks with an emphasis on quality.

Respond promptly to emergencies as needed.

Maintain accuracy in work tickets, job costs, inventory costs, and timekeeping for the department.
- Enforce existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and identify opportunities for SOP improvements.

Report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, and accidents to the Safety department without delay.

Accurately and promptly complete all necessary documentation and review/correct timesheets.

Train, mentor, and develop all direct reports and other team members in the construction department.

Conduct safety briefings to direct reports and crew to ensure a safe work environment.

Maintain regular communication with the Region Managers and Project Managers concerning all aspects of assigned job sites.

Collaborate with supervisors on daily planning including scheduling and route optimization for construction crews.

Ensure safety equipment and tools are available, assigned, and used properly.

Safely operate company vehicles, following company safety policies and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Operate equipment in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Lead operational meetings for schedule adjustments and efficiency, coordination of resources, and convey accountability for the company’s goals.

Facilitate discussions on job costing with the project managers and/or account managers.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years landscape operational experience in landscape maintenance, field operations, construction supervision, project management, or crew leadership.

At least one year of management or supervisory experience.

Skill in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong command of Aspire software, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and other software.

Background in customer relationship management and employee management.

Experience managing multiple crews, projects, or locations preferred.

Strong understanding of landscape maintenance, seasonal services, enhancement work, and field production.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites and branch locations
