As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for maintaining all machinery for the fabrication of optics. Performs equipment maintenance and repairs. Analyzes and solves technical maintenance problems. Pending approval of the Maintenance Team Leader, may arrange contracts for vendor services as it relates to maintenance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
OJT is offered – A full description of responsibilities can be provided to interested/qualified candidates
- Write and perform preventative maintenance procedures.
- Create and review projects and work schedules (in MMS) and estimate cost and time requirements for job completion.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets and schematics.
- Create or revise work process instructions.
- Suggest changes to improve process, product, or morale within the company.
- Perform any other function required by the managing staff.
Education Requirements:
- HS diploma is required. AS or BS desirable.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
- Electricity/electrician and forklift operation/rigging are also desired.
- Familiarity with Hazardous Materials Regulations, basic Microsoft PC applications are necessary.
- 24-hour on-call duty is desired.
- Ability to follow directions and prioritize with attention to detail.
- Analytical troubleshooting / problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
- This position works within a manufacturing environment. The noise level can vary from quiet to loud frequencies.
- Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
- May require area specific safety training.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch: and talk and hear.
- The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
Work Environment:
- This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level can vary from quiet to loud frequencies.
- May involve the use of oils and solvents.
- Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
- May require area specific safety training.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes.
- May be assigned to various production areas as needs require.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range:$47,527.00 To $71,291.00 Annually
- B Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)
- Minimum 40 hrs/week; overtime as needed
