Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Work with diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics on diesel engine repair and related systems.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical and mechanical problems effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Experience
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), air brake systems, and automotive electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not required.
- Skilled in using vehicle estimating software (auto estimating) for accurate repair assessments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with transmissions, powertrain components, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and brake repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately while working efficiently under pressure.
