Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dishwasher/Prep Person to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is essential in ensuring that our restaurant operates smoothly by assisting in meal preparation and supporting the culinary staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist in menu planning and preparation of ingredients for daily meals.
- Prepare food items according to recipes and standards set by the head chef.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Help with catering events as needed, ensuring timely and quality service.
- Utilize kitchen tools effectively, including knives and other food preparation equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.
- Support the team by performing additional tasks as required to maintain high standards of food service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety practices is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks within the kitchen environment.
