About Us:
Tokuyamatcha Onigirazu Bar is a Japanese café located in the East Village, Flatiron and SoHo .
At TOKUYAMATCHA, we're passionate about bringing authentic Japanese matcha and fresh Japanese-inspired food to New York. Our mission is to provide every guest with an exceptional experience through outstanding hospitality, high-quality products, and a welcoming atmosphere.
We're looking for positive, dependable team members who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, love connecting with people, and take pride in what they do.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve Japanese rice ball sandwiches (Onigirazu) and hot or cold beverages while following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Deliver friendly, efficient, and attentive service in a fast-paced café environment.
- Operate the POS system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
- Prepare espresso-based beverages and specialty matcha drinks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café, coffee station, and kitchen throughout the day.
- Restock supplies and assist with opening and closing duties.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and ensuring every guest has a great experience.
- Work collaboratively with team members to keep operations running smoothly.
- Be available to work at any of our store locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick learner with excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience as a barista, line cook, cashier, or in food service is preferred, but not required. We are happy to train motivated candidates.
