Position Summary
Marquette is seeking a Hospitality-Focused Environmental Services Supervisor the EVS Supervisor will oversee housekeeping staff, assist with managing departmental budgets, order necessary supplies and equipment, and maintain strong relationships with both residents and team members. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the department is compliant with all Federal and State regulations, while also promoting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect the work of housekeepers in apartments and Health Center rooms.
- Train, evaluate, and discipline housekeeping staff as needed.
- Coordinate daily cleaning schedules and discharge room procedures, including monthly detail cleanings.
- Monitor inventory and place monthly orders for housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Plan and oversee all special cleaning projects.
- Step in to perform housekeeping duties when needed, including weekend shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
- Promote a positive work environment and uphold strong resident relations and departmental morale.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in housekeeping or institutional management preferred.
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping within a retirement community, hotel, or healthcare setting required.
- Knowledge of housekeeping standards and infection control procedures is essential.
- Strong communication skills—both oral and written—are required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus (preferred).
