Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and extend system lifespan.
- Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and handle refrigerant charging in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to repair or replace faulty parts or components.
- Collaborate with property managers or clients to assess HVAC needs, recommend solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout service visits.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or maintenance.
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) environments.
- Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and building automation systems.
- Experience with HVAC system repair, installation, troubleshooting equipment issues including refrigeration and ammonia refrigeration units.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections related to HVAC systems, and boiler operation.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, welding equipment, and other repair tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> driver vehicles is preferred.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC design or appliance repair are advantageous.
