Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Terminal Psychotherapist specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and/or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This vital role involves providing comprehensive mental health services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, within a dynamic clinical setting. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as DBT, ACT, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-focused therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies promptly to manage acute psychiatric episodes and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, case management efforts, and discharge planning for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, medical terminology entries, and ICD coding compliance.
- Facilitate telehealth therapy sessions to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to support evidence-based practice improvements and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.
- Extensive experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience with hospital environments is preferred.
- Proven expertise in DBT and ACT modalities; additional experience with psychotherapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic therapy or art therapy is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of crisis management protocols, behavior management techniques, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluations and medical documentation standards aligned with HIPAA regulations.
- Competency in clinical documentation standards, medical records management, CPT coding for billing purposes, and telehealth platforms.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and family counseling; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
