Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in assurance and demonstrated leadership skills. This individual will manage the accurate and timely execution of assurance engagements across a variety of industries, including audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance services. A key component of this role is providing on-the-job training and mentorship to staff, fostering their professional development while maintaining high-quality service standards.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage efficiently and effectively to develop staff and create an optimal work environment.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships.
- Lead and manage assurance engagements from planning through completion.
- Identify and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues, providing sound guidance to team members and clients.
- Identify areas of risk or concern during engagements and be proactive in providing solutions.
- Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient execution and profitability.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to identify process improvements and implement best practices within the assurance department to improve client and team experience.
- Assist with staff evaluations and contribute to performance reviews and career development.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and professional standards to ensure the firm's assurance practices remain high-quality and compliant.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA required
- 5+ years of assurance-related public accounting experience
- Nonprofit and HUD experience is a plus
Skills
- Clear and effective communication internally among the team and externally with clients
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel
- Expertise in reporting on GAAP and other bases of accounting
- Full understanding of consolidating and combining financial statements
