Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist at Metals Treatment Technologies, LLC (MT2) supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by administering employee benefits, coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities, assisting with payroll processing, maintaining employee records, administering training programs, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This position serves as a resource to employees and managers while helping foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Administer company health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement benefit programs.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.
- Assist employees with benefit questions and resolve benefit-related issues with carriers and vendors.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain accurate benefit records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Coordinate the full recruitment process, including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
- Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
- Complete employment verification and background check processes.
- Maintain applicant tracking and recruitment records.
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Assist with employee relations matters and respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and employee development initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with unemployment claims, workers' compensation administration, and leave administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Training Administration
- Coordinate required employee training programs, including safety, compliance, and professional development.
- Maintain training records and certifications.
- Schedule training sessions and monitor completion requirements.
- Assist with developing and updating training materials and documentation.
Payroll Assistance
- Assist with payroll preparation by reviewing employee time records and processing personnel changes.
- Verify payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate payroll-related documentation, deductions, and benefit changes.
- Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Safety Administration
- Assist in the administration and coordination of the company's safety program and safety management system.
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and other required safety documentation.
- Coordinate new hire safety orientation and recurring safety training.
- Track employee certifications, licenses, medical surveillance, respirator fit testing, and training requirements to ensure compliance.
- Assist with workers' compensation administration, including injury reporting, claim documentation, and return-to-work coordination.
- Coordinate monthly safety meetings and maintain attendance and training records.
- Support accident and incident investigations by gathering documentation and maintaining records.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and compliance documentation.
- Monitor safety compliance records and assist managers in maintaining required certifications and documentation.
Qualifications
Education
· Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- Two to four years of progressive Human Resources experience preferred.
- Experience with benefits administration, recruiting, payroll support, and HR compliance preferred.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is preferred.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-state employers is preferred. MT2 employes staff in 16 different states.
- Experience with benefits administration and payroll systems is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
Work Environment
- Primarily an office environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or company meetings.
- Standard business hours with occasional flexibility required to support business operations.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
