Domestic Violence Prevention, Education, and Outreach Coordinator
Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County (DVSSC) is a non-profit agency working within the Snohomish County community to create an environment which is safe, responsive and supportive of domestic violence survivors and their children. Position Summary
Employment Type: Full time, 40 hours/week
Reports to: Prevention, Education, and Outreach Manager
Worksite(s): Hybrid - in-person and WFH
Starting pay: $22/hour (45,760/year)
· Responsibilities
- Facilitate educational presentations on healthy relationships, teen dating violence/ domestic violence in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and community organizations in assigned region of Snohomish County
- Developing and updating healthy relationship curriculum as needed.
- Act as a liaison between DVS and school personnel as well as outside agencies and groups.
- Facilitate prevention curriculum in local schools, after school programs, and community spaces.
- Assist in expanding DVS agency relationships through educational/ organizational outreach.
- Distribute and ensure availability of brochures and other relevant materials in key locations and as requested.
- Support the development department in promoting new programs and events.
- Develop and implement community engagement projects that align with program goals.
- Assist in creating and maintaining training curriculums for various audiences according to current relevant research.
- Keep track of all agency programs and activities that are prevention and outreach related and track relevant updated services.
- Frequent driving in all regions of Snohomish County
- Special projects and other duties as assigned

- Comfortable with frequently public speaking in a variety of environments and with differing audience sizes and age groups
- Comfortable engaging with community members of all ages in discussions about domestic violence and healthy relationships on a frequent basis
- Interest in educating the Snohomish County community about domestic violence and the services available to survivors
- Knowledge of intersectionality as a theory and how intersecting identities can impact survivors’ experiences with teen dating violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault
- Comfortable working with youth in a variety of settings
- Ability to adjust communication style and approach based on audience
- Critical thinking and ability to adapt to new situations, assess priorities, handle multiple assignments, maintain an organized schedule, and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency with e-communications, such as email or IM platforms
- Creativity, adaptability, and willingness to connect with others
- Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and car insurance; must be willing to travel throughout Snohomish County via personal vehicle
- Flexible hours as needed. Some weekend and evening hours are expected.

- Previous experience in curriculum development, public speaking, and/or training facilitation
- Passionate about our department’s mission to prevent domestic violence and support survivors
- Prior experience working with youth in a formal position
- Enjoys connecting with the community and colleagues
- Knowledge about domestic violence as a social issue
- Actively seeking/has completed a degree in sociology, psychology, social work, education, or related field
- Bi/Multi-lingual
