About the Opportunity
A well-established residential property management company is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Shaker Heights area. We are committed to maintaining safe, clean, and well-cared-for apartment communities while providing excellent service to our residents.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting a variety of maintenance issues, and making a positive impact every day. HVAC experience is a plus, but candidates with strong general maintenance skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on residential properties.
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests.
- Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and complete minor HVAC repairs (HVAC experience preferred).
- Prepare apartments for new residents, including repairs, cleaning coordination, and general upkeep.
- Maintain property grounds and common areas as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
- Document completed work orders and communicate larger repair needs to management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general building maintenance preferred.
- HVAC experience or certification is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working both indoors and outdoors.
