Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Preschool Floater to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will serve as a flexible classroom assistant, stepping into various preschool environments to support teachers and ensure a seamless learning experience for young children. Your energetic approach and strong communication skills will help foster a nurturing, engaging, and safe atmosphere where children can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain diverse classroom experience while making a positive impact on early childhood development.
Hours: 12:00PM-6:00PM Mon-Fri
Duties
- Assist lead teachers by supporting daily classroom activities, including lesson implementation and classroom management
- Provide personalized attention and care to children, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met
- Support curriculum delivery across subjects such as literacy education, math, and social-emotional learning, including special education adaptations when needed
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment that promotes active learning and curiosity
- Collaborate with staff to implement lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones and curriculum standards like Montessori or other educational philosophies
- Engage with children during play-based activities, fostering social skills, behavior management, and inclusive practices for children with disabilities or autism
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members to share observations and support individual learning goals
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and behavior management strategies
- Experience working with individuals with autism or various disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, children, and families
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments as a floater, role requires flexibility
