Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Retina Patient Care & Referral Coordinator to serve as a vital link between patients, referring physicians, and our clinical team. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of medical office procedures. The coordinator will ensure smooth patient flow, manage referrals efficiently, and support the delivery of exceptional retinal care.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and verify their insurance and personal information to facilitate seamless check-in processes.
- Coordinate appointments for retinal specialists, ensuring scheduling accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Manage incoming referrals from primary care physicians and ophthalmologists, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Educate patients on their upcoming procedures or treatments, providing clear instructions and answering questions professionally.
- Maintain detailed patient records within electronic health record systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient flow and reduce wait times while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Assist in billing processes related to retinal services, including verifying insurance coverage and processing claims efficiently.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry practices.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye care and retinal treatments.
- Proven ability to provide excellent medical administrative support with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with office management software and electronic health records systems.
- Experience in dental or medical office settings is advantageous but not required.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.

Experience:
- Red Light Therapy: 2 years (Preferred)
