Full Job Description
Full time, hourly position with weekly overtime. Candidate is a skilled heavy vehicle, diesel and mobile equipment mechanic with the ability to diagnose problems and perform the appropriate repairs. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN.
Tasks include:
- Maintenance and repairs for dump truck fleet.
- Dump Trucks, Dump Trailers, Road Tractors and more.
- Lead troubleshooting and repairs on company equipment.
- Operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Communicate effectively with employees, customers and vendors.
- Maintain paperwork and maintenance software.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN.
- 2+ years experience with heavy equipment or trucks required.
- High level of experience in Hydraulics, Diesel Engines, emission systems, electrical systems. Must be proficient in diesel aftertreatment systems.
- Utilize a laptop computer or other diagnostic devices to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Ability to perform FHWA inspections.
- Basic Welding and Torch Skills.
- Write and complete service orders.
- Candidates must be willing to travel to local customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised.
- Own tools necessary for the position.
- The willingness and availability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain work area and shop in a clean, organized and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to: Lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally; crouch or bend at the knees frequently when sorting or picking to increase visibility; climbing to reach work site occasionally; stoop or bend at the waist frequently to increase visibility; reach at arm’s length frequently or overhead frequently; twist and turn at the neck and trunk frequently; walk frequently on uneven ground; handle and grasp materials and tools continually; push and pull frequently when sweeping or cleaning; communicate by speech and hearing continually; work outdoors is cold\wet weather.

- Rice, VA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 5+ years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- CDL (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50.0 – 60.0 per week
