Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Electrician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial and construction electrical work, including blueprint reading and schematics interpretation. This role involves working on various projects such as renovations, new constructions, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with NEC standards and safety regulations. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse electrical systems, including low and high voltage applications, utilizing a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings, including low and high voltage wiring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical installations accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues.
- Work on construction sites performing wiring, conduit installation, and system upgrades during renovation or new construction projects.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with troubleshooting complex electrical problems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician with knowledge of NEC standards.
- Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical schematics reading.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Experience working on construction sites involving renovation or new builds.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of high voltage (HV) systems as well as low voltage wiring.
- Familiarity with framing carpentry or handyman skills is a plus for versatile project support.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Relevant certifications or licenses preferred; prior experience in construction or renovation projects highly desirable.
