Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Middle School English Teacher to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and communication skills while fostering a love for literature and language. You will implement engaging lessons that incorporate the latest learning technologies and adhere to educational standards, ensuring every student’s success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young minds in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Duties
- Design and deliver comprehensive English lessons that align with curriculum standards and incorporate innovative instructional strategies.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans based on diverse learning styles and student needs, including special education considerations.
- Utilize IT-integrated lessons to enhance engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Mentor students in developing strong writing skills, including creative writing, journalism, and academic writing following AP style and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.
- Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparation, to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and educational compliance to ensure high-quality education delivery.
Qualifications
- Middle School 4-8 or English 7-12
- Proven experience teaching middle school students with a focus on English language arts or social sciences.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students actively in learning.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools, including digital platforms for lesson planning and student assessment.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations or Montessori methods.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to adapt teaching methods to various learning styles.
- Higher education teaching experience or background in linguistics, literacy education, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of educational regulations, standardized testing procedures, and educational compliance standards.
