Job Description
The Sterile Processing Technician performs sterile processing of surgical instruments and equipment and maintains supplies for the Surgical Services Department. We have an opportunity for a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our Shriners Portland team!
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains clean environment in sterile processing department by wearing appropriate clothing, hair and face covering, and cover coats, and removing/changing aprons, masks, etc., as necessary.
Safely cleans, packages, assembles, sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.
Correctly operates, monitors, and documents all cleaning and sterilizing equipment in CS and OR area according to equipment manufacturer's instructions
Maintains appropriate CS and Surgery inventory by routinely counting, ordering, and restocking par level supplies.
Responds immediately to all requests from Surgery for different or additional items.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
2 years' experience in sterile processing
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), required within 6 months of hire
The pay range for this position is $24.16 - $36.23. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
