POSITION TITLE
Director of Sales & Partnerships, 1099 IC to start with opportunity to convert to FT
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS
Primary focus will be on new business/partnership development. Client discovery will be a critical component of the role which is designed to assess where Target can add the most value across our portfolio of offerings.

Deep knowledge of the digital marketing landscape preferred. You consider yourself a subject matter expert across traditional, digital, and experiential platforms and know how to solve problems. We are uniquely positioned to bring new and emerging media platforms to our clients which uniquely positions us to deliver measurable results.
POSITION TYPE
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Generous commission structure, a minimum base may be offered for right candidate.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must have:
- Experience within the following verticals: Travel/Tourism, Healthcare, Finance, Entertainment, Education, Retail and Multicultural space.
- Well-versed in programmatic and digital marketing landscape along with sales cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications, or Business degree, or related master’s degree.
- Minimum of 3-6 years’ work-related experience.
- Proven sales experience with a track record of success in exceeding established revenue goals.
- Exceptional relationship building skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various other programs as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Account Acquisition (Primary Function)
- Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, setting meetings, presenting Target Media’s unique advantages and benefits, negotiating, and closing new business.
- Expected to utilize an array of methods for outreach, leveraging existing relationships to identify decision makers and stakeholders, utilizing prospecting tools, and any additional resources to create a healthy pipeline.
- Serve as an industry expert and build rapport by keeping up with the latest industry trends to help expedite the sales process.
Account Management (Secondary Function)
- With the support of the Client Success Team, act as the primary point of contact for all client communications. The Director of Sales & Partnerships will be responsible for communicating client goals, budgets, expectations and strategic objectives to the Chief Growth & Innovation Officer, necessary leadership team members, and will review all media plans and presentations prior to client review.
- Follow all internal processes with accuracy and attention to detail to expedite the sales process to close new business.
- Effectively manage, support, and communicate with management regarding all appointments, presentations, and pending business.
- Network within local, regional, national and international communities/industries to promote Target Media, capabilities and assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
GOALS
The Director of Sales & Partnerships will work with the Chief Growth & Innovation Officer to establish clearly defined measurable goals that align themselves with Target Media’s key performance indicators and annual sales goals. Performance metrics will be established for the Director of Sales & Partnerships and will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS
- Ability to research, prospect, present ideas, manage objectives, and close business.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, anticipate needs, follow-up, communicate effectively and thoroughly with clients via phone, written correspondence, and face-to-face meetings.
- Understanding and a working knowledge of media buying, planning and placement to collaborate on strategic plans that will meet client objectives.
- Positive team player who will actively participate in company development objectives.
- Must display effective experience in client interactions and the ability to relate client needs and plan requirements effectively.
TRAVEL
Travel is minimal, but primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected as determined by the business needs of the company.
COMPENSATION
The Director of Sales & Partnerships will function initially as a 1099 Independent Contractor with opportunity to convert to Full Time.
A generous sales commission structure will be offered.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Weekly check-ins will be required along with participation in several standing company meetings. Periodic performance reviews will take place to evaluate progress.
