Caregiver – Short Shifts
Pay: $18–$19/hour
Schedule: 2–3 hour shifts available
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
Location: Grand Rapids and surrounding areas
What You’ll Do:
Provide caring, respectful support to clients in their homes, including companionship, personal care, light housekeeping, meal assistance, medication reminders, transportation/errands when needed, and helping clients remain safe and comfortable at home.

Requirements:
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to pass a background check. Caregiving experience is preferred, but we are also looking for the right heart, dependability, and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor client health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing specialized memory care techniques and ensuring their safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs; ensure cleanliness of the dining area and kitchen
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility support
- Document observations, care provided, and any changes in condition accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home care, assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
