Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging technology while adhering to safety protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health journey.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation.
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards and HIPAA compliance.
- Ensure the proper operation and sterilization of dental equipment while managing infection control procedures diligently.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with dental coding standards.
- Support the dental team by providing excellent patient care, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management practices specific to healthcare environments.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
