We have teamed up with an established multi-state real estate company with their HQ located in Solana Beach in their search for a Sr. property accountant. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience in the commercial real estate industry using Yardi. This position will report to the controller on a team of 5. Seeking someone with good experience who can add value right away. The company is doing deals and raising money, while being selective on transactions. They are primarily retail with joint venture investments in multifamily and self storage.
Location: Solana Beach 92075 (near Fletcher Cove)
Salary: $90k-$105k plus bonus & benefits
Duties:
- Perform month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, account analysis and monthly financial statement reporting for various commercial, construction and multifamily properties
- Perform monthly budget vs actual variance analysis and quarterly lender requirements
- Ensure timely payments of property taxes, debt obligations, A/P and prepared construction loan draws when needed
- Manage new lease setup process and assisted with capital calls, and monthly distributions.
- Prepare annual operating and CAM budgets with property management
- Review and analyzed annual CAM expenditures and income and compared against approved budgets
Requirements:
- BA/ BS in Accounting or related field
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Yardi is required
- Property Accounting experience is preferred
