We are seeking an experienced Residential Electrical Helper / Apprentice for a temporary position supporting residential new construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on residential electrical experience who understands proper installation methods and can work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
This is NOT a full-time position. This is a temporary position with the possibility of future work or a longer-term position based on performance, reliability, and overall fit with our company.
The first phase of this temporary position will run approximately July 20th through August 20th. The schedule will vary week-to-week depending on project needs, and all schedules will be communicated clearly in advance. A second phase of work may be available at a later date and is still to be determined.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of residential electrical experience required
- Must have experience working on residential new construction builds
- Must understand residential electrical installation from rough-in through finish
- Must be able to work safely, efficiently, and follow electrical standards and jobsite expectations
Required Residential Electrical Skills:
Applicants must have experience and understanding of:
- Wiring and understanding residential electrical panels
- Running proper branch circuits according to plans and electrical requirements
- Installing and wiring:
- Standard receptacles
- GFCI receptacles
- Light fixtures
- Dimmer switches
- 3-way switches
- Proper methods for securing and strapping branch circuits
- Understanding residential wiring methods, materials, and installation practices
- Maintaining clean, organized, and safe job sites
Responsibilities:
- Assist with residential electrical rough-in and finish work
- Install electrical devices and fixtures correctly and professionally
- Assist with panel wiring and branch circuit installation
- Follow plans, instructions, and electrical code requirements
- Maintain quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with the lead electrician and project team
- Show up on time and be dependable throughout the project duration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with California residential electrical construction
- Familiarity with NEC requirements
- Experience working independently on assigned electrical tasks
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
