Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and engaging conversation
- Assist customers with product selection, including plants, gardening tools, outdoor furniture, and floral arrangements
- Provide expert advice on lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, and plant identification to enhance customer satisfaction
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and organizing supplies efficiently
- Communicate effectively with team members via phone or in person to coordinate store activities and customer requests
- Demonstrate outdoor work experience by assisting with garden setup, floral design projects, or landscape maintenance tasks when needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of lawn care, gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance techniques
- Experience with floral design and plant identification to assist customer inquiries confidently
- Proficiency in retail math for accurate cash handling and sales transactions
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and retail sales processes
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Organizational skills for stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and managing inventory efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude to meet customer needs promptly and professionally
