Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician
Kollmer Equipment is looking for an experienced Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician to join our team.
We are a busy outdoor power equipment dealership servicing commercial customers. We are looking for a dependable mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing problems correctly, performing quality repairs, and getting equipment back to customers as efficiently as possible.
Our shop works on a wide range of equipment including commercial zero-turn mowers, compact tractors, skid steers and excavators.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair outdoor power equipment
- Perform engine, electrical, fuel system, hydraulic, drivetrain, and mechanical repairs
- Service commercial mowers and diesel equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment rather than simply replacing parts
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative service
- Accurately identify parts needed for repairs
- Complete work orders and document repairs performed
- Communicate with the service and parts departments regarding repair needs
- Keep your work area, tools, and equipment organized
- Perform setup and preparation of new equipment when needed
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship
Equipment & Brands
Experience with outdoor power equipment is strongly preferred. We sell and service equipment from manufacturers including:
Scag, Toro, Kawasaki, STIHL, KIOTI, Wacker Neuson and other major outdoor power equipment and engine manufacturers.
Experience with all of these brands is not required.
Qualifications
- Previous mechanical or equipment repair experience preferred
- Small engine or outdoor power equipment experience strongly preferred
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Comfortable using service manuals, wiring diagrams, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer systems
- Must have your own basic hand tools
- Ability to safely lift and handle equipment and parts
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
We are willing to consider an experienced mechanic from a related field, including automotive, powersports, agricultural, construction, or equipment repair, who is interested in learning outdoor power equipment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, productive, and takes pride in doing repairs correctly. Our ideal technician can work independently but also communicates well with the service and parts departments.
This is a hands-on position in a busy dealership where the workload changes seasonally. Spring and fall can be especially busy, so the ability to prioritize work and keep jobs moving is important.
Pay: $26.81 - $35.00 per hour
