Job Overview
The Admissions Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors entering the state park. This position is responsible for greeting guests, collecting entrance fees, providing information about park facilities and regulations, and delivering excellent customer service. The Admissions Assistant helps ensure efficient park entry operations while promoting a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Collect admission fees and process cash accurately.
- Provide information on park attractions, recreational opportunities, facilities, events, and regulations.
- Answer visitor questions and direct guests to appropriate resources or locations.
- Maintain accurate records of admissions, sales, and daily transactions.
- Balance cash drawers and prepare end-of-shift reports.
- Assist with visitor safety by communicating park rules and reporting concerns to park staff.
- Keep the admission booth clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service, cashier, retail, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling abilities.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, courteous, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal schedules.
The expected hours for this job opening is primarily weekends and holidays in the evening.
Pay: From $9.00 per hour
