This is a multi -shift facility and your schedule will primarily manage 2nd shift paint prep/paint and team and product flow.
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Paint/Body Shop Manager to lead our auto body prep/paint customization operations. Duties
- Manage all aspects of the collision repair shop, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality control.
- Supervise technicians and body shop staff, providing guidance on auto body repairs, auto painting, aluminum repairs, metal fabrication, and auto restoration projects.
- Oversee vehicle damage assessments using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software to ensure accurate scope of work and cost estimates.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate with clients to communicate repair progress, explain repair procedures, and address any questions or concerns effectively.
- Maintain inventory of paints, auto glass, hand tools, power tools, and other shop supplies; manage procurement as needed.
- Implement defect resolution root cause analysis to identify underlying issues in repairs or processes for continuous improvement.
- Enforce shop policies on heavy lifting techniques and proper use of technical proficiency tools such as auto body refinishing equipment and metal fabrication machinery.
Experience
- Proven experience managing a collision repair or auto body shop with a strong background in auto disassembly and reassembly, paint prep, and painting.
- Dealership experience or collision repair shop experience required.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for auto disassembly and reassembly.
- Familiarity with automotive body refinishing techniques including automotive paint application and detailing processes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to collision repair shops and the proper use of PPE.
- Experience working with aluminum materials and metal fabrication techniques is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to explain repair procedures clearly and foster positive team member relationships.
- Technical proficiency in computer-aided paint mixing systems is essential for accurate color matches along with entering information into our propriatary vehicle task tracking system .
- Ability to assist team members with physical tasks as needed .
