Job Summary
The Event Utility Setup team plays a crucial role in the successful execution of events by preparing and maintaining our venue spaces. This hands-on position includes setting up and striking furniture and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and order, and assisting with overall event readiness.
Essential Functions
- Set up and break down event spaces based on diagrams, event orders, and verbal instruction, including but not limited to tables, chairs, stage, dancefloor, drapery, and furniture.
- Handle all fixtures, furniture, and equipment with care to avoid damage.
- Maintain organized and clean storage areas for event inventory and equipment.
- Support the upkeep of event spaces through tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, steaming, and trash removal.
- Practice proper lifting techniques and safe work habits at all times (e.g., use of gloves, back support, and correct bending)
- Communicate clearly and courteously with event managers, team members, vendors, and guests.
- Report any damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
- Assist the broader productions team and assist in other areas of the organization as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience as a hotel banquet houseperson or similar setup/utility role preferred.
- Familiarity with basic equipment care, venue maintenance, and cleaning standards.
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Practice and knowledge of safe work practices.
- A well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Excellent customer service skills with a "can do" attitude.
- Ability to effectively work individually as well as in a team environment.
- Must be a proven self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the hospitality industry a plus.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, overnights, weekends and/or holidays as dictated by the events schedule and seasonal changes.

- Ability to regularly climb stairs, bend, stoop, and perform physically active tasks as required.
