Telephone Triage Nurse – Remote Position
We are seeking a licensed nurse to support injured workers through the workers’ compensation claims. This is a phone-based nursing role focused on care coordination, communication, education, and helping injured employees through initial injury.
This is a great fit for an RN with experience in workers’ compensation, orthopedic, triage, occupational health, or operating room experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic triage support to injured workers
- Help coordinate care between injured workers, providers, employers, and claims professionals
- Review medical information and identify potential barriers to recovery
- Educate injured workers on care plans, next steps, and return-to-work expectations
- Communicate updates clearly with internal and external stakeholders
- Support timely recovery and return-to-work outcomes
- Document calls, case activity, and follow-up actions accurately
- Escalate concerns when additional clinical or claims review may be needed
Qualifications
- Active RN Compact License required
- Workers’ compensation experience preferred
- Telephonic nursing, triage, occupational health, orthopedic, or operating room experience
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable working in a phone-based role
- Organized, compassionate, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong clinical judgment and follow-up skills
Ideal Candidate
This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable on the phone, detail-oriented, and will be an advocate for the injured worker.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
