An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Finance Associate to join the growing Atlanta office of a highly regarded international law firm with a market-leading Banking & Finance practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious attorney looking to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border financing transactions while advising leading financial institutions, private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, and other major market participants. You'll become part of a collaborative, high-performing team recognised for handling complex lending matters across a broad range of industries.
The Role
The successful candidate will advise lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions, taking an active role in negotiating and structuring complex deals from inception through closing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising financial institutions and corporate borrowers on a broad range of commercial finance transactions.
- Managing acquisition financings, cross-border lending transactions, and syndicated credit facilities.
- Drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, guarantees, and ancillary financing documentation.
- Conducting legal due diligence and coordinating transaction closings.
- Working closely with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure efficient transaction execution.
- Supporting private equity, corporate, and M&A transactions requiring sophisticated financing solutions.
- Providing commercially focused legal advice throughout every stage of the lending process.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 2–6 years' experience in Banking & Finance gained within a respected law firm.
- Experience representing financial institutions, corporate borrowers, or both in complex lending transactions.
- Exposure to acquisition finance, syndicated lending, and cross-border finance matters.
- Admission to the Georgia Bar, or eligibility to practise in Georgia.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple high-value transactions simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative approach to client service.
- Experience gained within a large or national law firm would be advantageous.
