The Sales Associate reports to:
- Store Manager
- Assistant Manager
- Regional Manager
- General Manager
- President
Education: College Degree Preferred but High School Diploma required
Licensing/Registration/Certification: Drivers License
Experience:1-5 years retail sales experience and/or Cap World experience.
Must have excellent communication, problem solving skills and a professional attitude. Computer literacy a must.
Body Positions: Primarily standing and walking in showroom, shop floor, and warehouse.
Occasionally, Sales Associate will be sitting at a desk or driving to different locations.
Body Movements: Walking throughout store, use of hands, arms, and eyes for use in the movement of products.
Body Senses: Use of vision to read product specifications and in the inspection of merchandise, installation facilities, showroom, warehouse, and the store lot. Hearing in dealing with Manager, employees and customers.
Mathematics: Ability to read and interpret financial calculations and reports.
Language: Must be able to communicate in English both written and oral. Able to prepare and read reports, interact with customers, business associates, and provide direction to subordinates.
Working Conditions: Includes, but not limited to, showroom setting, shop floor, assisting sales staff and installers in handling and displaying merchandise.
- Develop and institute wholesale and retail sales strategies and programs.
- Introduce new products and ideas to increase sales margins.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of sales and profit outlooks.
- Review weekly and monthly sales results with the Store Manager.
- Guarantee timely reaction to customers’ presence, questions and problems.
- Ensure that a high level of product knowledge is maintained.
- Responsible for scheduling and documenting customer appointments for installation.
- Calls on key truck dealers as requested by the Store Manager.
- Knowledgeable of sales trends in the industry.
- Aware of, and follows all safety standards and safety requirements including any required forms.
- Timely replenishment of stock and the proper presentation (pricing, part #’s, and codes) is essential.
- Assist with store opening/closing procedures.
- Daily operations such as paperwork, time cards, computer generated reports, accurate ordering and inventorying of products, as well as end-of-day reconciliation and nightly deposits.
- Security and loss prevention
- Understanding of profit and loss accountability
- Any and all other duties as assigned by Store Manager, Regional Manager, General Manager or President.
