Salary Range: $125k - $140k (yearly equivalent) depending on experience level and qualifications
Location: Fully remote with required periodic onsite presence in the United States Midwest region
Clearance / Eligibility: Must be eligible to handle CUI; familiar with CMMC environments
Role Summary
Centerfire Engineering is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of the design phase of a federal industrial/manufacturing project. This role oversees all technical disciplines, manages schedule and deliverables, coordinates with the Government, and ensures compliance with UFC and UFGS. The position is project-specific for a duration of 13 months for the design phase of the project. There is an opportunity to extend and/or a full time position at the end of the design phase as it moves into construction. The APM will be responsible for assisting the Overall Project Manager and Quality Control Manager in executing oversight of the design phase of a federal manufacturing design project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Leadership — Prepare documentation including weekly meeting minutes, schedules, and be ready to communicate them to a multidisciplinary design team
- Schedule Management — Help maintain the 30/60/90/100% design schedule, project milestones, and critical‑path activities
- Government Coordination — Lead weekly progress meetings and formal review cycles with USG stakeholders.
- Risk Management — Identify and mitigate risks to schedule
- Deliverable Quality — Ensure a high quality set of construction document deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management
- An active Professional Engineering License is preferred but not required
- A PMP is favorable, but not required
- 7+ years managing or designing federal or MILCON projects
- Experience with UFC/UFGS criteria
- Demonstrated ability to take direction and execute
- Familiarity with CUI, NIST 800‑171, and CMMC environments
Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
