Kats Wine & Spirits is looking for friendly, versatile candidates who will thrive in our team environment. Tasks may include warmly welcoming our clientele, stocking while maintaining neat inventory displays, assisting customers with wine and spirit selections, and making sales. Although prior experience is not required, a genuine interest in wine and spirits is essential. Education is provided for the position with optional tastings.
All applicants and employees must:
- Pass state (Mississippi) and federal (FBI) background checks for MS Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing
- Be at least 21
- Pass drug screenings
- Pass motor vehicle review with a favorable driving record and no DUIs
- Have an associate's degree or favorable work history
- Present a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance
- Have the ability to frequently lift 40-pound cases, including up and down ladders
PART-TIME DAY "SALES & OPERATIONS SPECIALIST"
PAY = $12.65 - $14 PAY or 26K to 29K
Although applicants with prior training may start higher, pay starts at a "training rate" of $12.15 per hour for the first three pay periods and quickly increases according to the following schedule. After training, the hourly rate increases to $12.25 for the next four pay periods. At the same time, an additional .20c per hour is added to a year-end bonus for good attendance through December, raising available pay to $12.45. At the beginning of the eighth pay period, you're considered fully trained, and the hourly rate increases 20 cents, raising available pay to $12.65. Once your command of our products and procedures yields adept selling, merchandising, and customer service, your hourly rate is increased another 20 cents, raising your available pay to $12.85. Then, similar increases pursuing available pay between $13 - $14 are awarded based on performance with potential full-time health benefits (assuming 11.15% federal, 5% state, & 7.65% FICA, approx. pre-tax equivalent of $2.05 per hour) pushing pay equivalents between $15 - $16. Note: Only employees increased to full-time hours (subject to availability) and opting to pay their employee portions are eligible for Kats' group health insurance on the 1st of the month following their ninetieth day of full-time employment.
MON: OFF w/ up to 8.25 additional hours potentially available some Mondays (10 - 6:15)
TUES: 1:30*-6:15-6:30 (depending on time of year)
WED: 1:30*-6:15-6:30 (depending on time of year)
THURS: 1:30*-6:15-6:45 (depending on time of year)
FRI: 12:30-10
SAT: 2-10
*Please note that our plan is to expand the hours by moving the start time to 1, but that will be in the future. Successful candidates will need to be flexible to include that hour in the future. There may also be extra hours required during the 4th quarter (Oct-Dec).
