Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing product inspection to verify compliance with customer specifications, electrical codes and material specifications. Initiates, documents, and monitors non-conformance reports to ensure products satisfy customers’ expectations. Maintains complete and accurate records of inspection activities.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Perform Final Quality Control Inspections:
- Conduct detailed product inspections in compliance with the Critical to Quality (CTQ) checklist.
- Electrical and electrical connections inspections to verify compliance with electrical codes and specifications.
- Dimensional and positional inspections to ensure accurate measurements and alignment according to design specifications.
- Labeling inspections to verify the presence and accuracy of regulatory and non-regulatory labels on products.
- Visual appearance inspections to ensure that products meet aesthetic and quality standards.
Audit In-Process Quality Control System Records:
- Review and audit in-process inspection records to ensure that quality control measures are being applied consistently throughout the manufacturing process.
- Report discrepancies and suggest corrective actions as necessary.
Initiate and Track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs):
- Initiate Discrepant Material Reports (DRMs) for any materials or products found to be non-compliant.
- Tag non-conforming materials and track the progress of rework or other corrective actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure that corrective actions are documented and implemented in accordance with Company procedures.
Maintain Quality Control Documentation:
- Complete and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including Inspection Reports, checklists, control plans, and job records.
- Ensure that all quality-related documents are accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed for future reference.
Support Calibration Program:
- Assist in the calibration program to ensure that all critical-to-quality tools used in electrical system integrations are regularly calibrated and appropriately labeled.
- Work with the calibration team to track calibration schedules and document any necessary adjustments or repairs.
Review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs):
- Review Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure that all changes are correctly implemented and that they do not compromise product quality.
- Verify that fabrication teams can effectively incorporate changes into the production process and meet production timelines.
Maintain Regulatory Logs:
- Maintain an accurate UL log and ensure that all products are in compliance with UL standards.
- Ensure that both in-house manufacturing and external suppliers have access to the latest revisions of engineering documents and are following current revisions in their work.
Ensure Document Control Compliance:
- Ensure controlled distribution of engineering documents and verify that the most up to date revisions are being used in manufacturing and by suppliers.
- Assist in the maintenance of document control systems to track the release and revision status of engineering documents.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Intermediate proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, to manage data, reports, and communication.
- Basic familiarity with ERP systems, with a demonstrated ability to learn the Company’s ERP system (Epicor). Prior experience with Epicor is preferred but not required.
- A basic understanding of electrical connections and terminations is required to effectively inspect electrical products.
- The ability to program and test sensors and panel meters as required is essential.
- Ability to Create Technical Documentation.
- Capable of generating as-built drawings and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for purchasing.
- Proficiency with standard inspection and measuring tools, such as calipers, tape measures, and other measurement instruments, is required for performing precise inspections.
- Prior exposure to high-voltage electrical installations, including switchgear and electric drives, is preferred.
- A strong proficiency in basic mathematics is necessary. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to product quality.
Physical Working Conditions:
- Able to work exposure to elements, such as ambient temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Able to work in areas without heating or air conditioning and must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must have good eyesight, with or without corrective lenses, with near vision acuity and color contrast differentiation to inspect fine detailed work.
- Must be able to perform physical activity including physical lifting up to 50 pounds, prolong standing throughout the day, must be able to stand for periods of time, pushing or pulling of heavier objects.
- Able to work in an environment involving exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require the following safety precautions and the use of personal protective equipment.
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
- Manufacturing Quality Inspection Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and perform dimensional inspections using standard measuring instruments.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of quality inspection methods, mechanical and electrical assembly processes, and quality standards. Ability to identify defects, document inspection results accurately, and ensure products conform to engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, drawings, and sketches.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
