Lead Technician – Role Description
The Lead Technician is responsible for coordinating daily field operations while also performing hands-on work in the field, including carpentry and general maintenance tasks. This role ensures technicians are effectively scheduled, productive, and aligned with company standards, while leading by example through active participation in project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling & Coordination:
Plan, assign, and manage daily schedules for technicians to ensure efficient coverage of all work orders, projects, and service requests.
Monitor technician performance in the field, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Ensure all team members remain actively engaged throughout the workday by reallocating resources as needed and identifying additional tasks when downtime occurs.
- Communication Leadership:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with technicians via Slack, phone, or other platforms. Ensure timely updates on job status, delays, and completions.
Track progress of assigned work, verify updates are entered correctly (e.g., in Corrigo), and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Hands-On Field Work (Carpentry & Maintenance):
Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, door and hardware installation, drywall, patching, finish work, and other general repairs. Step in to support the team as needed to keep projects on track.
Address field issues in real time, provide guidance to technicians, and escalate challenges when necessary.
- Quality & Safety Compliance:
Ensure all work adheres to company safety policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
Mentor technicians, reinforce expectations, and help develop team members’ skills and accountability.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
