Job Description
This position is for LEAD BAGGER.
The Lead Bagger is the last line of defense before an order reaches the customer.
You are responsible for receiving completed sundaes from our scoopers and toppers, identifying each sundae, matching it to the correct order, checking that it was made correctly, lidding and bagging it, and getting it into the customer's hands as quickly as possible.
This is one of the fastest-paced and most important positions in our store.

We are a high-volume operation. During slower periods, this position may seem simple. During our busiest periods, you may have 15–20+ active orders that need to be organized and handed out immediately.
If the bagging station falls behind, the entire store falls behind.
You must be extremely comfortable working under pressure, moving very quickly, staying organized, and making decisions while orders are constantly coming toward you.
Including tips, team members can earn $20-$28/hour.

The Scoop N Scootery started as a local ice cream sundae shop and delivery restaurant in the greater Boston area, known for our decadent sundaes and late-night hours. We are a fast-growing company looking for upbeat, ambitious team members who thrive in high-volume environments.
Responsibilities
- Receive completed sundaes from our scoopers and toppers
- Quickly identify each sundae and match it to the correct order on the expeditor screen
- Lid, organize, and bag orders accurately and extremely quickly
- Hand completed orders directly to the correct customer
- Memorize our menu and be able to visually identify our signature sundaes
- Check every sundae for accuracy before it leaves the store
- Recognize missing toppings, incorrect ingredients, incorrect sizes, or poorly made items
- Send incorrectly made items back to the appropriate station to be corrected
- Hold scoopers and toppers accountable for accuracy and quality
- Communicate clearly with scoopers, toppers, and runners throughout the shift
- Manage the pace of the production line
- Recognize when the team needs to move faster
- Recognize when production needs to slow down briefly because accuracy or organization is beginning to suffer
- Constantly monitor the number of active orders and customers waiting
- Prevent completed orders from piling up at the bagging station
- Keep orders organized even during extremely high-volume periods
- Keep the bagging and handoff station clean and organized
- Restock bags, lids, spoons, napkins, and other supplies at your station
- Communicate with customers when handing out orders
- Maintain accuracy while moving at an extremely fast pace
Speed Matters
This is not a traditional bagging position.
At peak volume, sundaes will be coming toward you continuously while customers are waiting for their orders and new orders are entering the system.
You need to be able to:
Identify it. Check it. Lid it. Bag it. Hand it out. Move to the next one.
And do it over and over again without losing accuracy or organization.
We place a very strong emphasis on speed in this position. The ideal Lead Bagger can operate at an almost Olympic-level pace while remaining calm, accurate, and organized.
Being fast is not enough. You must be able to move fast without allowing quality to fall apart.
