Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Pre-K Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners during their foundational years. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster early literacy, math skills, social-emotional growth, and physical activity.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports toddler care, classroom management, and positive behavior management strategies.
- Conduct child development assessments to tailor instruction and support individual learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or informal updates.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols.
- Lead engaging lessons in preschool teaching areas such as literacy education, math, physical education, and arts & crafts.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, standardized testing results, lesson plans, and classroom activities.
- Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to first aid and CPR standards and implementing health guidelines for childcare settings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; familiarity with toddler care is a plus.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, and implementing standardized testing when applicable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork with colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs including special education requirements and early intervention programs.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development in childhood development is preferred.
- Experience working in private schools or daycare environments is advantageous; familiarity with preschool experience is essential.
