Hakipuu Academy, a Hawaiian-focused public charter school in Hawaii, is seeking an energetic and strategic Human Resources Director/Dean of Students to lead our human resources initiatives and foster a vibrant, inclusive campus community that prioritizes positive student behavior. This pivotal role combines comprehensive HR management with student engagement, ensuring the development of a supportive environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and organizational success. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with mission-centered goals, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and organizational design.
- Manage employee onboarding, orientation programs, performance management processes, and employee evaluation systems to ensure continuous development.
- Administer benefits programs, payroll processing using the HR Symphony platform, and ensure compliance with employment & labor law regulations, including FMLA, OSHA standards, and HR legal compliance.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to align priorities in the academic plan and financial policy.
- Oversee student discipline framework and engage students with restorative justice practices.
- Assist the principal in IEP/504 meetings involving families and service providers as an admin designee.
Skills
- Strong communication abilities to foster positive relationships across all levels of Hakipuu Academy.
- Extensive experience in talent acquisition, recruiting strategies, and managing human resources teams effectively.
- Data analysis skills for reporting and process improvement.
- Deep understanding of employment & labor law, HR compliance standards including EEO regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing change within complex environments while fostering team collaboration and strategic thinking in HR leadership roles.

Pay: $56,427.38 - $67,955.55 per year
