The Dock Restaurant & Bar, an upscale casual dining setting known for it's exceptional cuisine and comfortable yet upscale atmosphere, is seeking experienced, energetic, and professional Servers to join our front-of-house team. We are dedicated to providing an exceptional elevated-dining experience, and our servers are the key to making that happen.
In this role, you will be responsible for guiding guests through our menu, providing expert recommendations on premium cuts of steak, fresh seafood, and some local favorites, and delivering excellent service that ensures every visit is memorable.
Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, attentive, and professional service to all guests from initial greeting to farewell.
- Possess extensive knowledge of our menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine and cocktail pairings.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Skillfully guide guests through their dining experience by offering insightful recommendations and upselling premium items.
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Monitor guests needs and anticipate requests to provide a seamless dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with grace, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented attitude.
- Collaborate effectively with hosts, bartenders, food runners, and management to ensure timely and memorable service.
- Process payment transactions and maintain accuracy in cash handling.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized section and side work duties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of serving experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant. Fine dining or upscale casual experience is strongly preferred.
- Extensive food and wine knowledge, with a passion for steak, sea, and Cajun food.
- Impeccable communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Must be TABC and FOOD HANDLERS Certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
- MUST be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry up to 35 lbs.
