As a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a vital role in empowering participants to reach their fullest potential-socially, physically, and emotionally-while ensuring their safety, dignity, and independence are always prioritized.

Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, and mobility

Implement individualized program plans and engage participants in enriching activities

Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment

Support community outings and meaningful social experiences

Maintain accurate documentation using agency systems

Assist with safe transportation of participants using agency vehicles
-
Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral or emergency situations

High school diploma or GED
-
Valid Connecticut driver's license with a clean driving record

Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, (Medication Administration certifications if required)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Comfort using computers and basic software

A compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care
This is an active, hands-on role that includes:

Assisting with lifting, transferring, personal care/hygiene and mobility support

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching

Working in environments with varying noise levels and conditions

Attend community outings and events with individuals
