Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, bed making, and bathroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and dining spaces by sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Handle chemical agents safely by adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for yourself and guests.
- Use janitorial equipment effectively, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning tools to deliver high-quality results.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving furniture or supplies while following manual handling safety protocols.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly in case of incidents or safety concerns to ensure guest and staff safety at all times.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or sanitation concerns promptly to management.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of hospitality standards.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene.
- Skilled in operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to learn and adjust as needed.
