The Department of Business and Industry is hiring to fill a Management Analyst 2 position within the Consumer Affairs Unit in Las Vegas. The incumbent will support programs and analytical functions that help protect Nevada consumers to include ensuring all program activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and internal controls while supporting Consumer Affairs objectives, staff, and fiscal integrity. Under the direction of the Director or designee within the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, the incumbent will assist the Commission on Minority Affairs with conducting research, data collection, investigations, and statistical analysis related to minority affairs; coordinate administrative functions including management of the Commission’s budget, programs, public meetings, and statutory responsibilities assigned under Nevada Revised Statutes; and serves as the Department’s Language Access Coordinator. They also provide analytical guidance, compliance tracking, and operational support to Consumer Affairs program to include investigative and fiscal staff support and tracking deliverables and deadlines and manage assigned Consumer Affairs initiatives and ensure operations are completed in compliance with state requirements to include conducting and supporting analytical, financial, and investigative studies related to Consumer Affairs programs; compiling and evaluating consumer complaint data, case statistics, enforcement trends, and program outcomes; preparing written reports summarizing findings and offering recommendations to strengthen consumer protection.
Additionally, they perform minority and demographic reporting; utilize their bilingual communication skills to assist consumers, translate complaint information when required, support bilingual outreach efforts, and help ensure accurate and culturally responsive service delivery; analyze and refine Consumer Affairs operating procedures, investigative workflows, public outreach processes, and complaint intake systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer service; coordinate development of public-facing materials and automated tools used to process consumer information; participate in the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Consumer Affairs biennial budget and program budgets; project future workload and cost trends; prepare fiscal justifications; ensure compliance with state policies and program requirements; review, research, and monitor legislation affecting consumer protection programs; analyze potential operational impacts; brief management; and recommend appropriate action.
