Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, promote positive behavior, and build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff. Your enthusiasm for early childhood development will help create a vibrant learning space where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.
Duties
- Develop and execute creative, age-appropriate curriculum plans aligned with Vermont Early Learning Standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.
- Manage daily classroom activities, literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and arts integration.
- Implement behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions and respect among children.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or informal update
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan team activities, participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development instruction and special education needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or childcare settings; prior classroom management experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that supports literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment.
- Must clear full background check
- At least an Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 21 Credits in ECE.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal skills and strong work ethics.
- Desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
- Desire to continue education or willingness to learn.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
